StonePeak is proud to announce we are now a part of ecoScorecard and GreenWizard. Both websites are designed for the end-user, creating an online environment that allows you to choose not just the best product for the job, but the greenest!
Although similar, both sites slightly differ catering to a different audience.
ecoScorecard is a free website designed to help people evaluate products against some of the major environmental ratings systems, such as LEED, Green Guidelines for Healthcare, Labs21, and Collaborative for High Performance Schools. They can then help you calculate the environmental information of the product, such as tile, with the rest of your chosen material, such as more tile, and shows you how it can directly contribute to credits in a particular standard.
Although very similar, GreenWizard stands firmly by LEED, being the largest project management tool used by design professionals to evaluate, specify, and document building products under this standard. Just this month GreenWizard hit 10.5 Billion dollars in projects, including public, private, and government buildings.
While GreenWizard charges to be involved in their site, it creates a very interesting dynamic they call “build community”. Weeding out all but customers willing to pay for their services, they created an interactive community to help grow green building intelligence through social sharing.
Regardless of which one you prefer, it is great to see the digital world adapting to green building. Feel free to take a look at each and explore them for yourself.
